After winning two games last year, Jesse Jakel and his Abbotsford teammates place a great deal of time in the weight room come july 1st and it is repaid having a 4-1 start.

Jakel may be the Falcons' leading rusher xian zhi su with 472 yards on 95 carries and has scored three touchdowns.

What do you attribute to your 4-1 begin to the growing season? We're more physical this year on sides of the ball, and that we have a bigger line. We have more guys out for football and we are all focused. Following a game win or lose you can look anyone on the team in the eye and you may tell they gave everything they'd.

Aside from the outcome, that which was it like to host a game with all the hype of two undefeated teams in a game with conference implications? It was insane. None of us have ever took part in a game like this. We were both undefeated and we had a huge crowd. It was great to achieve the whole town rooting for us. (Owen-Withee beat Abbotsford 38-14 at hand the Falcons their first loss of the growing season Friday night.)

Following the Owen-Withee game, what still needs work? We have to keep with this blocks towards the whistle. We missed some against Owen also it ended up costing. Most people have made mistakes this year and I think all of us can perform our jobs better.

Describe your running style. I'd say I'm more of an electrical runner. I like to hit the hole and get through, however i don't mind putting my shoulder down and trying to create a hole.

What is it like scoring a touchdown? It's like no other feeling. I will miss it next year. I don't think anything else will give me that feeling after I'm done playing football.

What is the biggest difference from last year's team (2-7) compared to this season? It was the work within the offseason. Everybody labored in the weight room. Everybody is playing to win games. We do not have any selfish guys who're playing for stats this year and we are all friends.

What are your plans for the coming year? I'm either likely to join the Army or Navy. I wish to serve our country and find out the world.
